Love That Comes Close
Love came wrapped in cloth, nestled in a feeding trough.
Not flashy. Not grand. Just real. Tangible. Close.
God with us.
By now, you may be feeling the weight of everything that didn’t get done. The Christmas plans that might not work out. The people who won’t be around the table this year. Or the grief that keeps sneaking into your joy.
But the wonder of Advent is this: Jesus came anyway.
He came knowing we’d be tired. Knowing we’d feel broken. Knowing we’d need a Saviour more than a solution.
The invitation of Advent isn’t to have it all together. It’s to open the door. Make room. Let love in.
That’s what Christmas is about.
A God who came close. A God who the Wise Men came to worship.
With fragments of prophecy, starlight, and faith, they travelled far to seek Him.
And when they found Him, they worshipped.
That’s the remarkable part: they didn’t need the whole story to respond in worship.
So this week, make space in your heart. Not for perfection. But for presence.
He is Emmanuel.
Reflection verse:
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” — John 1:14a
